Question 3: How do I know what the best breed of dog is?
Answer: There is no one best breed. Whatever fits your lifestyle and makes you happy is the best breed for you. Go to the library and get an AKC complete dog book, then do some research.

Question 4: I want a lot of dogs. Is that a smart thing?
Answer: How much money do you have? How much time do you have? If you don’t have a lot of both, the dogs will suffer.

Question 5: We own a male dog, but we want to get a puppy. Which sex should we get?
Answer: Definitely get a female. They are less likely to fight. As a rule, the female will be the boss.

Question 7: I think my dog is bored during the day, and I’m considering getting another dog to keep him company. Would that be trouble, or would it help with his boredom?
Answer: It’s sort of like having two children. Sometimes it works out great, and sometimes it’s a lot of trouble. I suggest you get some training for this dog before you bring another one in. Sometimes training two at the same time is difficult, not only for the owner, but also for the dogs.

Question 8: We’ve adopted a dog and it doesn’t seem to relate to my husband as well as it does to me. Will this always be true?
Answer: We don’t know what happened to this dog in its puppyhood. It takes time for trust and to forget traumatic experiences that happened in the past. Perhaps this dog’s attitude is based on past experiences with men. Give it lots of love and time and make the husband the treat giver and the feeder. I always ask people if they’ve overcome or forgot everything that happened to them when they were a child. Nor has your dog. Be patient, kind, and happy.
