There was no trial, no judge, no jury:
Sitting in this cage, I think no one
cares. I speak for my canine friends,
when I say, "Don’t let us die"...Teach
us; we will learn, we already know how
to love, we can...be taught. When I sleep
tonight, I will dream that there is a
person for every dog.

We make good friends, and we are
always there to listen. I am not sure if
anyone will come this day, to make me a
part of their family, but I do know that I am
scared, and hungry, but most of all,
I am lonely and sad.

What have I done? Someone tell me!
I have committed no crimes,
so please...don’t let me die---I am just
a dog who needs a friend, and a place I
can call home.
